Once Upon a Time

What you can't see in this image is the 40ft chasm at the edge of the dome on one side of the lowest pad and a 60ft+ drop on the other which earns this block a double fluttery heart as well as the best sunset views at Black. To my knowledge this was an FA yesterday, which is rightly given in team fashion to all who sent. Although moderate at the grade (v3ish), this climb, as well as the descent, demands a very solid head. It is an astonishing addition to Blacks highball adventure bouldering circuit.

  2. Joe! So glad you made it out yesterday. I took about 75 shots yesterday but, I am saving the best for the book. I still want to go back with a little more lighting, my wide angle, and shoot it at sunrise when we get a day when the marine level is thick in the western valleys. So if you ever want to go do it again some day...maybe camp on a saturday evening and shoot sunday morning in october or november?

  6. Absolutely, totally, fantastically SICK! Been staring at that line for quite some time, since I first ventured down to ExPat last Spring. I certainly was not able to convince myself to go for it. PROUD is the only word for it.
